Today, Tuesday, March 22, is the twelfth day of Lent. Lent is the period of time during which we can prepare ourselves for the Easter experience.
Assignment 12
Let us remember how great the Will is in the human expression. At one time it was believed to be good to break the will of a child. But to break the will of a human being is to rob him of the most potent power of God and to restore the will is to give him back his God Power, which is his own good.
With our understanding we speculate, we contemplate, we see mentally. With the great mind of Life we ponder the pattern of life, which is our purpose for being. But we could deliberate and consider forever and never achieve or fulfill our life, except for our Will.
The Will completes the understanding with action. The Will moves. Unless we are willing nothing ever happens. We say we are willing to know God, to have a clear expression through and in us, but are we willing to let go of the opinions, fears, and beliefs that choke our path and turn us back in frustration?
To be willing is to let everything go. To be willing to know the Truth of God’s Presence with us all and not to judge or to reason why a person is thus and so, except to know that he has his own God-given pattern which leads to his completion and perfection!
Whether you are able to comprehend the purpose of life in another or not, from where you stand, is not the plan of the Creator. You must be willing for every other soul to find his way, the way Life points out for him. “The voice behind his ear that says, ‘This is the way, walk you in it’.” (Isaiah) You must be willing to step forth in life. Meet every day with a living faith that it was created especially for you and for your joy of expression.
Get quiet in the outer. Examine yourself. Can you feel your Will? Are you willing to let things happen? Are you willing to let your own pattern come forth through you? Are you forcing your own good back by being unwilling to relax and let go and see what God would do if you stepped aside for a moment? Are you willing for others to live their lives? Or do you force your will upon then? You were given authority and power over one Being – You! My Will is God in action; it is for me alone . . . I Will God’s highest good and it shall be!
